IRS pushes the federal individual tax filing deadline to May 17. Maryland state income tax deadline is set for July 15.
The Internal Revenue Service announced on Wednesday, March 17, it is postponing the country’s federal, individual, tax-filing deadline until May 17, 2021. Currently, only the deadline for the individual, federal tax returns on Form 1040, and the related extension payment have been moved.
However, there are a number of other deadlines that are still due on April 15, 2021, such as:
- The first estimated tax payment for individuals. Individuals are still going to need to calculate their first quarter estimated tax payment and make the payment by April 15, 2021.
- Tax returns for calendar-year corporations and trusts must still file on this date, or request an extension by this date. Also, they have estimated tax payments due on April 15, for the current year.
